Review of Echoes in the Darkness
by Arl:

From best selling writer Joseph Wambaugh ("The Onion Field") comes Echoes in the Darkness. Based on a true story, and featuring an all-star cast, including Peter Coyote, Robert Loggia, and Stockard Channing, Echoes in the Darkness is the critically acclaimed drama of psychological intrigue, conspiracy and murder. It began in 1979 with the grisly discovery of school teacher Susan Reinert's (Stockard Channing) nude, battered body. It ended seven years later, after one of the most massive homicide investigations in history...a bizarre series of crimes orchestrated by two twisted killers: William Bradfield (Peter Coyote), a respected, charming high school English teacher with the Charles Manson-like ability to manipulate, deceive and murder; and Dr. Jay Smith (Robert Loggia), a high school principal and Army Reserve officer who led a shocking double life as a would-be pornographer and convicted thief. No one could believe they were killers - except their victims. Echoes in the Darkness - A chilling odyssey into the dark heart of evil.

Vincent Irizarry will rob your concentration when he briefly surfaces in the last quarter of the movie, with his overgrown, onyx hair, scruffy map of manhood appearing on his chiseled jaw, and smooth, persuasive voice! END.

Personally, my feeling is that this flick was drawn out and severely lacked dramatics that are necessary to captivate viewers, until VI appeared of course, except by then, I could hardly stay awake! In a photo on the box, Stockard Channing looks exactly like "mirror Janet!"
